Nancy Belle Burton, born Nancy Moody, entered eternal life at home in Hemet, California on Friday, July 11, 2014
Nancy was the youngest of 5 children. She was born July 7, 1943 to James and Ethel Moody in Riverside, California where she was a lifetime resident.
Although she didn’t know it at the time she met the love of her life Bob Burton at the age of 8 while attending Fremont Elementary. Bob laughs as he remembers that they were not fond of each other initially. Nancy’s family moved while she was in the 5th grade, she and Bob attended different middle schools.
They reconnected at Riverside Polytechnic High School where they graduated together, Class of ’61. They married the following year, August 31, 1962, at Riverside Christian Church. Together they had 4 children.
Nancy was a homemaker who loved her family and especially adored her grandchildren. She was always the “team mom” for her children’s activities as they were growing up. She enjoyed travelling and bowling with her husband while collecting spoons along the way.
She liked watching Jeopardy, cooking and home decorating shows. She listened to ‘oldies but goodies’ music and was especially fond of all things Disney; Disneyland, movies, shows and collectibles.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob Burton Sr., and her family Pamela & David Hanson, Bob & Leslie Burton Jr., Dennis & Heather Burton and Kenneth & Lorena Burton; grandchildren: Brandon, Brent, Steven, Megan, Jason, Alexis, Nick, Kyle and Carissa; siblings Virginia Thomas, Kenneth Moody, Phyllis Timmons and Leroy Moody.
Nancy’s life will be celebrated at 2PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Hemet Valley Mortuary in Hemet, California with reception immediately following on the premises. In lieu of flowers, Nancy’s family requests that you please remember her with a contribution to Arbor Hospice and Hemet Hospice.
She will be missed!
