Welcome to the memorial page for

Louis M Nenstiel

September 1, 1922 ~ December 24, 2016 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Louis M Nenstiel passed away peacefully on December 24, 2016 at 94 years old.  He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Helen Nenstiel.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne (Graber) Nenstiel in 2000, and his son, Kevin Louis Nenstiel in January, 2007.

He was born on September 1, 1922 in Albany, Indiana to Robie Nenstiel and Celia (Barger) Nenstiel.  He was the oldest son with one older sister, Louise (Nenstiel) Watkins, and younger brother, Robert (Bob) Nenstiel.  Both have preceded him in death as well as his parents.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Dianne (Watkins) Rud, Larry Watkins, Nancy (Watkins) Robinson, Mark Watkins, and Kristina (Watkins) Stamper, Jill (Nenstiel) Wise, and Joy (Nenstiel) Moon.  He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and their children as well as his stepson Dan Boyd (Jill) and his family of Boulder, CO.  Lou is much loved by all of his family.

Louis served in WWII in the Army Signal Corps as a Technician 5th Grade (T5) from 1942-1945 during the campaigns in Africa and Italy as well as stateside.  After boot camp and communications training in Virginia, he was in the 2nd signal Battalion as a key punch operator, the Foggia Italy 15th and 12th Airforce, and the 122nd Signal Audio Intelligence.  He was honorably discharged in 1945, and returned home to Indiana.

Louis accepted the Lord at the age of 28.  His personal relationship with Jesus was his guiding light throughout his life.  He died peacefully knowing he was going to be with the Lord, and all his loved ones who had accepted Christ before him.

Louis worked as a commercial air conditioning and refrigeration repairman for 27 years with Hussman Commercial Refrigeration.  He and Anne lived in Norwalk for many years before moving to Hemet.  He continued to work for Hussman even after moving to Hemet.

After Anne’s passing, he met and married Helen at their mutual church, Cornerstone Baptist Church of Hemet.  They lived at the Village Retirement Home the past 11 years.  The family greatly appreciates the care that Uncle Louis received from the Village Retirement staff during the past 10 years and the assisted living and hospice staff during this past year.

“Well done thou good and faithful servant…enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”  Matthew 25:23
