Avis Ruth Ver Plank

Born August 3, 1938 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Emerson and Lavern Knispel.  Avis was third of four children, Emerson Lee Knispel, Oriville Knispel, and Karen Kay Reilly who have all preceded her in death.

She moved to California with her family in 1951 and graduated from Hemet High School in 1957.  She married David Ver Plank in 1958.  They had three children, Cynthia who passed away as an infant, Kimberly, and Daniel.

Avis worked as a telephone operator for GTE after high school and for a short time at Sharps Home Center in the mid 2000’s.

Avis loved animals, especially dogs of which she and David owned many over the years as well as a few cats.   She also was a music lover and there was most always music playing in the house, car, or RV.  She and David loved to travel to Laughlin, Nevada and to their property they once owned in Arizona.  She was a resident of San Jacinto for many years and most recently lived in Idyllwild.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, David, Her two children Kimberly and Daniel, 4 grandchildren Jennifer, Jacquelynn, Kristen, and Kyler, and two great-grandchildren Arabella and Cash.

She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
