George A Gomes

On the morning of August 4, 2022, George Arthur Louis (James) Gomes passed away at Hemet Global Medical Center from an unknown complication to liver cancer.  He was 63 years old.  He resided in Hemet, CA and was the loving domestic partner of Antoinette Grant.  George was born on March 25, 1959, in Providence, RI.  He was raised by his mother Shirley A. Robinson and stepfather Henry R. Walmsley and was the son of George A. L. James.  He was preceded in death by his son Dana Gomes and sisters Valerie James and Kim L. James.

George worked as a mechanic with his stepfather for several years and later worked in construction.  He was funny and charismatic.  He easily made friends and loved to make people laugh, especially his family.  George was also a lifelong New England Patriots fan.

George is survived by his children, Benjamin Woods, Alisa Harley, George Wilson, Jason Gomes, Christian Gomes, Breean Green, Beth Green, Evander Gomes, Alicia Conley, several grandchildren, his aunt Marilyn Humphrey, and his siblings Brian A. James, Michelle A. James, Lisa H. James, Glen D. James, Aaron W. James Sr. and Vanessa C. Carroll.
