James Moore Sr. was born on 10/29/1927 to Ting and Ida Mary Moore. His maternal grandparents were Joe, Annie Strother. He passed away at the age of 95, he lived a long, happy fulfilling life. James grew up on the Benjamin Moore Plantation in Leland, Mississippi. James left school in the 4th grade to help his parents pick cotton and work on the plantation. He joined the military, served his country and received an Honorable discharge. He was the first African American to get a U.S. Mail Contract. He worked for the Sanitation department for several years. James, an Entrepreneur at heart, decided to operate his own Recycling business. James was preceded in death by his beloved uncles Joe and Hoover, Aunts Isabella (and Rosie, nephew Clarence Moore Sr, and Dearly loved by his Sisters Annie Moore, Sylvia McClinton, Martha Lazenby and son Stephen Lewis. He is survived by his wife Elvie Moore, His daughters Lisa, Ruth, Mary and Sandra. His sons James Jr, Scott, and David. His grandchildren Jasmine, Deanna, Sherrie, Stephanie, Micheal, Maurion, Maurio, Bianca, Irene, Vincent ,James III, Alma, Henrietta, Newell, Micah, Ian and Jalynn Jones. 17 Great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved him dearly. He left a lasting, loving impression on everyone that knew him. He was deeply loved and He will truly be missed
