James R. Richmond Sr.

RICHMOND, JAMES ROBERT,

Our father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Thursday September 27, 2018 at the age of 87 at his home.

He was born on May 16, 1931 in Litchfield, Ct. to James and Doris Richmond. 

 Dad served his country in the Koran war and was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1955. Dad drove a truck for CME for over 30 years and was a member of the teamsters union.  After his retirement in 1986, he took to the roads with mom where their travels took them all over the country, with their beloved cat Tommy. Each trip always included a story of how they hit it big at the casino. After mom passed away, dad was lost without her and he stayed close to home. He had many friends that he would meet up with at the donut shop where he loved to shoot the breeze about politics and sports. We will miss our conversations with him and the advice he always had for us. We love you dad and we will miss you terribly. Till we meet again.

 He is survived by his children, Susan Constant, Steven (Nancy) Richard, Diane (Richard) Delatorre Linda (John) Pugh, Jim Richmond, Marie (Bud) Doscher, and Lisa (Steve) Henderson, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

 He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Cecile (Gratton) Richmond, his parents, James and Doris Richmond and his sister Alice Roskosky.

 A gathering with family and friends will be held on Friday, Oct. 5,2018 at the Richmond residence.

Interment at the Riverside National Cemetery.
