On August 1, 2018, Jessie May Gilbert went home to join the love of her life; Grover Gilbert, with much anticipation. She was born on May 28, 1921 to the parentage of the late Charles and Naomi Saulter in Pittsburg, Kansas. She received her education in New Mexico. After meeting her future husband in 1945, the love birds tied the matrimonial knot in 1946. With a wanderlust for diversity and creativity, she engaged herself in several endeavors including: catering and laundress for the Donald Douglas’ and other motion picture celebrities, the Knit and Stitch Club, a choir member, secretary of the church for numerous years, and last but not least; a retired Grand Officer of the Eastern Star No. 8. She was a faithful member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Perris until her health failed.
Other than her parents; her husband Grover, her sister Rose, her brother Charles, other sister in-laws and brother in-laws preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories, on brother in-law; John Monk of Wichita, KS; on sister in-law; Josephine Saulter of Albuquerque, NM; one God-daughter; Catherine Sue Thomas of Allen, TX; Erica Mills-Hollis, Erique Mills, and Uriah Hollis of McKinney, TX; one God-son; Melvin Parham of Perris, CA. Other nieces and nephews of; Chicago, IL, North and East, TX, Denver, CO, Wichita, KS, Shreveport, LA, San Diego, Moreno Valley, and Los Angeles, CA.
