She was my grandma but she felt like my best friend I could tell her my secrets and she would keep them, I used to tell her to rub my arm and put my arm on her and she would rub it and I loved that so much. I loved her beyond words. She was an amazing person and I was very close to her. I've never had a better best friend in my life. She was a blessing from God and I thank God for putting her in my life as long as he did. We have beautiful memories of her and her bomb cooking and her awesome laugh. We know she is in heaven with God now where she deserves to be. I love you so much grandma lou!!!!!

I met Linda through Heather Shephard when I was in middle school and I am now 40 years old. Linda was like a second mom to me. Every time I saw her and went to their house I felt right at home. She was so thoughtful, she always thought of others before herself. She was funny and encouraging. Even though I know she is in a better place I will still miss her so much! I know God has a mansion for her in heaven. John 14:1-3

1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

As for her family which I love like a second family I am constantly praying for you all. I pray that God will heal your hearts and give you peace. I know that's what she would want. Here is a scripture for you all.

Romans 8:35-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Phil.4: 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Debbie, Jill and I want to extend our condolences to all of you. We are recalling some of our favorite memories of your Mama. Her look. That smile. That laugh!! And the hospitality.
She had the most gentle voice, and took such great care of everyone. Linda was the kindest, most genuine person. I am eternally grateful to Linda and the entire Shepherd family for loving me and my family for so many years. We love you, and share in your grief. Love, Elizabeth
