Tribute

Michael Charles Williams was born on January 30, 1962 in Long Beach, California to Otis C. Williams and Loise V. Williams.

At an early age Mike began playing football for the Long Beach Poly Jr. Jackrabbits, a youth organization in Long Beach, CA.

Mike received his early education in Long Beach, CA where he attended John Muir Elementary, Hughes Junior High School and in 1980, Mike graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School (home of the Jackrabbits).

Mike was a natural born leader and right after his high school graduation, Mike enlisted in United States Army once he completed his term, he enlisted in the Army National Guard of California. While serving our country, Mike received many Service Ribbons, Medals, Badges and Commendations. In 1989, SERGEANT Michael C. Williams honorably discharged from his military service to raise his family his family and focus on his career with Southern California Edison (SCE).

In 1985, Mike started his career with SCE at the Redondo Beach Steam Generation Plant.

During the last 35 years, Mike developed his skills by earning many certifications in Leadership and Management.

Mike’s determination paid off in 2006 when he was awarded a Senior Supervisor position in the Meter Services Organization. While at SCE Mike earned a reputation as being “fair, but firm”.  He had a passion for doing what is right when no one is looking. Mike’s career with SCE concluded in December of 2020 an Energy Delivery/Distribution Senior Supervisor.

Mike was such a big personality. He had the ability to set the mood of any room he walked into. Dancing and music were his life! He was known to be the life of the party, even if there was no party J. He had the most hardy, infectious laugh you ever heard. When he laughed, anyone within hearing distance would burst out laughing, without ever knowing why.

Michael met the love of his life, Teri Williams over the phone while working at SCE. They formed a friendship and bond, without ever knowing what each other looked like for almost a year later. They were married on December 30, 2006.

Mike and Teri were best friends and soulmates, wherever you saw Mike, you would also see Teri right by his side. Together they focused on building their future together by instilling constant growth and development.

In 2010, as a couple, Mike and Teri obtained their college degrees Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

Michael was also served at the Remnant Of Life Worship Center. He was a true solder for the church with a passion for always instilling safety first and always keeping the church grounds and partners safe and secure.

On December 9, 2018, Michael received his Certificate of Ordination to the office of Deacon at the Remnant of Life Worship Center. Becoming Deacon Michael C. Williams was one of his proudest moments. Well done Deacon Williams!

On December 31, 2020, Michael Charles Williams transitioned to Glory to forever be with the Lord. He will always be remembered for his commitment to being a solder for the Lord, and for his love and dedication to his wife and family.
