Patricia Lynn Wessell
She was born as Patricia Lynn Struck on September 21, 1963, as the fourth child of Robert and Kathryn Struck, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was raised in the Catholic faith and her god parents were Richard Struck (Uncle) and Margaret Salentine. She began school attending Burdick school in Milw. Wisconsin, but then the family moved from Milwaukee to Garden Grove, California in 1972. Garden Grove is where she spent her childhood and often loved to reflect on the good memories and friends that she made while living there. She attended Enders-Freemont Elementary, Bell Junior High and Pacifica High School in Garden Grove. If you were to ask her friends who knew her back then, they would tell you that she was always up for an adventure and that she loved playing softball. The family made one more move to Corona, California in 1979 where she finished high school at Norco High School. It is at Norco High School that she met Guy Wessell, while they had a very complicated relationship (married in 1985 and divorced in 1996) they had 2 children together Kristina in 1982 and Matthew in 1983. She graduated from Norco High School in 1982 and then attended a trade school for telecommunications repair.
She was a wanderer and has moved many times in her life, which include Dallas Texas, San Antonio Texas and San Pedro California, which other than Garden Grove have been her favorite places to live. Along with moving it meant that she has held a variety of jobs which includes her first job at Save-On Drug store, animal control, food service and her final job was sales for Best Window Tinting. 1998 is when she finally moved into a house in Riverside, that she would call home for 12 years, and it is in this home she got her beloved pets Shelby, Toby and Penny. 2008 would be the year that would change her life forever, when she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and she fought this disease for 10 long years to stay with her family as long as possible, and out lived every prediction that the doctor’s ever gave her on how long she had left. She set a goal in 2017 for herself to make it to make it to both her children’s weddings that happened in Aug and Oct of 2017. She would then pass on August 1, 2018, peacefully in her sleep.
No matter who you ask who knew her would tell you that she was very compassionate and willing to help those in need. She loved her family and friends and was always there for them. She is preceded in death by her father Robert Struck, brother Jeffery Struck, all her Grandparents and many Aunts and Uncles and Cousins as well as her beloved pets Penny, Shelby and Toby. She leaves behind her Mother Kathryn, her children and their spouses Kristina and Brandon Bennett and Matthew and Christina Wessell, her siblings, Jean, David and Barbara, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Miss Me, but Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that was once shared.
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take,
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the master's plan,
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart,
go to the hills we know.
And bury your sorrow among the trees there.
Miss me - but let me go.
