Ricardo Cortez, Jr

We are deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Ricardo Cortez Jr. on January 08, 2023, at the age of 29. Ricardo, better known as Ricky, was born on December 24th, 1993, to parents Cipriana Ojeda and Ricardo Cortez, in Hemet, CA. He spent his childhood in Chicago, IL, with siblings Jesus and Angelica Cortez, and Daniel Rey Morales. His passion was playing soccer and will always be known as the soccer all-star by his coaches, friends, and family. Family was Ricky's greatest treasure. He will always be remembered by those who loved and knew his kind-hearted soul. He was famously known for always carrying on with a smile. Ricky made an astounding impact in this world and will forever be revered as a person who came to change the lives of all of those he loved. His joyous character was a gift from God; especially in times of sadness. His contagious smile would illuminate our minds in times of darkness, convincing us that everything would be okay. His profound love for his family will always be remembered as he leaves us with a missing piece in our hearts. He left his siblings without a brother; a niece without an uncle; his grandma without a grandson; his uncles and aunts, without a nephew; his cousins, without a cousin; he left his friends, friendless—but most importantly, he left his parents without a son. The void that he is leaving is too much for our hearts to bear. His smile, laughter, and beautiful green eyes will carry on in the memory of all of those who loved him. His gentle and compassionate character will live on and his loved ones will miss him forever. Services will be held at Hemet Valley Mortuary on Thursday, January 26th, 2023. The burial will be held at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery on Friday, January 27th, 2023. The family asks to keep Ricky and his family in your prayers during these tough moments
