Romero Sotelo Jimenez, 73, of San Jacinto, California was called home to the Lord on May 19, 2019 at Desert Hills Memory Center in Hemet, California. He was a man of faith, a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Romero was a loving husband to his wife of 54 years, Dora Jimenez.  A cherished father to five children, Jimmy Jimenez, Randy Jimenez, Tami Jimenez, Daniel Jimenez, and Tracy Almanza.  He was a beloved Grandfather to thirteen grandchildren and a Great Grandfather to one great grand-daughter.  He spent 40 years as a Quality Inspector in the aerospace industry. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for the last fifty-three years, where he served his community as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Parish Council. He had a great sense of humor, was willing to help anyone in need, and had a plethora of guidance and love to anyone who needed it.  He enjoyed his family, collecting hot wheels, trains, and military memorabilia.

“I am the resurrection and the life.  The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”- John 11:25-26

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found that peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life's been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch,

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
