Tribute

It is with profound sorrow and broken hearts we announce Scott Michael Soto, age 40, our cherished son and brother passed suddenly and went to be with our Lord on December 3, 2020.

Scott was known for his exceptional art skills, and he also loved to write rhymes and lyrics and record raps. He was a kind and loving soul who possessed a remarkable spirit.

Scott suffered from a neurobiological illness, Schizophrenia, and silently endured the unyielding torment of this disease, all the while maintaining his amazing attitude towards life. The light of love that lived inside him glowed brightly for his family and friends.

Scott was born at Stranford Hospital in Palo Alto, California on September 28, 1980.  He grew up in San Mateo, California, attended Meadow Heights Elementary School, Abbott Middle School and Hillsdale High School.  He attended The Art Institute in San Franciso for two years before becoming ill and moving to Hemet to be with his family.  After moving to Hemet, he attended Mt. San Jacinto Jr. College and was one math class short of obtaining 2 Associate of Arts degrees.

Scott was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Jack Soto and Maxine Calabrese,  two cherished uncles, Jimmy Soto and Bobby Calabrese and his devoted father, Michael Soto.  He is survived by his mother, Gloria L. Soto, 3 brothers, Erick, David and Sean Soto, nephews Nathaniel and Sean Soto Jr. and many loving cousins, aunts and uncles, as well as a multitude of friends.

With his kind heart, generous nature, amazing spirit and contagious smile Scott (XSVART) left a lasting imprint on many people during his lifetime, and he will be forever remembered  by those who  held his life dear and those whose lives he evermore touched.

Services were held in Scott's memory on Friday, December 17, 2020 at Hemet Valley Mortuary; A celebration gathering of family and friends followed at Gibbel Park in Hemet..
