Ted Edward Misch was born on February 10, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Theodore Arthur Misch and Helen Lena (Draeger) Misch. Growing up Ted enjoyed playing sports of all kinds, but he enjoyed football the most and played during high school and afterward on a league. He joined the United States Army and served 3 years during the Korean War. He met his wife Juanita E. Misch through mutual work friends at EMWD and married her in 1970. For 53 years they were married, and loved horseback riding, camping, traveling, coffee and donuts with friends, and living in Hemet. In 1976 they adopted their daughter Gina.
For over a decade Ted was construction supervisor for Pageant Homes. His ability to fix and build anything led him also into a career as a supervisor at Eastern Municipal Water District, American Adventure, and Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts. Unable to rest after retiring he enjoyed working at Bob’s Trailor Supply as a top salesman. Ted was a longtime member of Hemet San Jacinto Masonic Lodge #338.
Ted is infamously known for his pranks and sense of humor. When inviting him over you always had to keep your eye on him as he was likely to play a prank on you. His ability to make friends wherever he went was a real gift. His generosity to his wife, daughter and many friends will always be remembered.
On December 27, 2022, in Hemet, California, Ted journeyed home to heaven. His beloved wife, Juanita Misch; daughter, Gina Misch as well as numerous friends will forever love and cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held on January 18, 2023, at 10:00 am at Hemet Valley Mortuary; words from family and the Masonic Funeral Service will follow at 10:45 am. Interment, recognizing his military service, will be held at Riverside National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
