Velma Jewell (Suitor) Tuttle, 92, peacefully passed away August 10, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones.

She was born May 6, 1929 to Tommie A. and Dessie (Davis) Suitor in Shamrock, TX. She married Robert Emmett Tuttle July 12, 1948 and they had three children: Theodore Paul Tuttle, Jeannetta Gayle (Tuttle) Bell and Winfield Scott Tuttle.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: Lorene Mouser, Lois Hodgson, Tommie Suitor, and Shearl Goodwin. She is survived by her 3 children, 5 grandchildren: Michelle Marie (Tuttle) Butler, Nicholas Scott Tuttle, Robert Benjamin Bell, Amanda Nicole Bell and Christopher Orrett, and 3 great grandchildren: Alexander Butler, Zachary Butler and Miles Bell-Allen, sister Patsy June Perry and many loving nieces and nephews.

 Velma and Robert moved to Southern California in 1960 from Oklahoma. They moved to La Puente in 1965 and to Elsinore in 1976. After her husband’s passing, she moved to Hemet. In 2016 she relocated to be with her daughter in Orange Beach, AL. Velma retired in June 1989 after 16 years as a school bus driver for Hacienda-La Puente School District and Elsinore Union High School District. She also owned a dress shop for a few years.

Velma will be laid to rest September 7, 2021 at Riverside National Cemetery next to her husband. There will be a graveside service at the cemetery at 11:30 am and reception following. Donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org
