Alfredo Refujio Rey – July 4, 1923 to November 13, 2017.
Alfredo Rey, affectionately known as Uncle Nin (Neen), was born in Fabens, Texas to Marciano Canuto Rey II and Refujio (Cuca) Montes on July 4, 1923, sharing this day with his twin sister Mary Rey Watzske, the only girl of seven brothers; Raul, Alfonso, Oscar, Alfredo, Marciano, Isaac, and Billy. Alfredo joined the Army at age 20 and proudly served in the Army from March 1943 to November 1945, surviving five major battles of WW II; the battle of Normandy on Omaha Beach especially stuck in his mind as he felt blessed to have made it home as many did not. After returning home he and his brothers moved to Los Angeles and they were soon employed with Norris Thermador-Industries for 20 years. He retired early in life but being bored started a carpet cleaning business with his brother Marciano until he retired and moved to Hemet, CA.
Alfredo is survived by his loving wife Lina and brother Marciano III and numerous nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by his parents, Marciano Rey II and Refujio, his brothers Raul, Alfonso, Oscar, Isaac and Billy, and sister, Mary, and first wife Margaret Rey.
He was deeply loved by everyone and will be missed.
