Dean Lee Olson
Dean has been a light in the lives of his friends and family, shining brighter and into more hearts each year since his birth to Ole and Ray on May 15, 1938, in Minot, ND.
After moving to California in about 1960, Dean built a life that grew to include lifelong friends, a successful career and a family that now boasts 35 grand- and great-grandchildren. He moved from Orange County to Hemet in 1978.
He worked as a Parts Manager and retired from Gosch Ford in 1993. His love for his wife of 41 years, Lou, and their seven children and their growing families, was unparalleled, but there were other loves in his life.
An avid motorcycle rider, Dean enjoyed countless long-distance rides with Lou and cruised every highway in the United States and several in Canada in Mexico through the years. He was a lifetime member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association Chapter M and rode locally with friends in the informal “Old Geezers Club” in Hemet. Despite illness in recent months, he rode his motorcycle as recently as a few weeks ago.
Dean also loved spending time in the desert and, as anyone who visited him on a Sunday in fall would know, he was a righteous Raiders fan.
He spent his last days at home with Lou, surrounded by family.
Dean is also survived by his daughter Tina and son-in-law Dean; son Edward and daughter-in-law Krista; son Bill and daughter-in-law Valerie; and son Tim and daughter-in-law Darla. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan R. D. Francis, a daughter, Vickie Olson, and sons Bryan Francis and Danny Francis.
